Fostul Ambasador al României la Bangkok, Dl. Ioan Voicu, a fost numit de către revista „Expat Society” ca unul dintre cei 300 de străini din Thailanda care s-au remarcat prin activitatea lor in Regatul Thailandei pe perioada 2010-2011.
Reproducem în întregime descrierea facută de „Expat Society”: IOAN VOICU - The former Romanian ambassador to Thailand earned his PhD in political science and international law at the University of Geneva and is now attached to Assumption University as a visiting professor. He was recently awarded an honorary doctorate in international relations by the university and has also received an honorary distinction from the Romanian Institute of Human Rights.
Printre ceilaţi 300 de străini mentionaţi se află şi omul de televiziune Andrew Biggs şi scriitorul Christopher G. Moore.
